Born and raised in Bowen Whitsundays, of North Queensland, Australia. Aria Nominated Australian Indigenous & South Sea Islander Singer/Songwriter, Ms. Simone Stacey began her Musical journey in Cairns (Far North QLD) at an Indigneous  Music Course which ran out of the Cairns Tafe College where Ms. Stacey first met her soul sister and Best friend Miss Naomi Wenitong. Both Ms. Stacey and Miss. Wenitong ended up singing, writing and recording together and soon became a well known indigenous R&B Pop Duo group- "Shakaya". Ms. Stacey and her fellow singing partner had taken Australia by storm with there first hit release "Stop Calling Me" , released back in 2002, landing Shakay with a hit at no, 5 on the Australian Music charts and lasted for a few Months, which enabled Shakaya to be nominated for an ARIA award for "The Best Selling Single of the year" as well as the achievment of gaining a Platinum record. The Duo was also known for there other chart topping releases, such as "Sublime" and "Cinderella" entering in at no. 3 on the Australian Music charts, Cinderella was the single which got Ms. Stacey and M.s Wenitong a "Golden Plaque Award " also for single of the year as well. 

 

Ms. Stacey and her fellow singing partner, Miss Wenitong have bothed graced the stage over the years with there unique gifts and talents of writing and creating a mixture of sounds varying from Reggae, R&B and Pop. Ms Stacey had travelled with the Duo all throughout Australia support acting huge international acts such as : Destiny's Child, Beyonce, Usher, Jah Rule, Ashanti, Shaggy, Pink, Sugar Babes, Kylie Minogue. Ms Stacey and fellow singing partner also had the privelage to go on the Peter Andre tour throughout Londan, Scotland, and Ireland in 2004, where Ms Stacey and Miss Wenitong were personally hand picked by Mr Andre himself to be the openning suport act as well as his backing vocals for the entire duration of the Londan tour. There were many other tours and appearances, such as the Rhumba tour, many major fundraising events all throughout Australia,  Television shows such as the Disney Channel, the Kerri Anne Kennerly show, the Bert Newton show, Morning Sunrise and many more other guest appearances and high profile gig's.

 

Ms. Stacey has also had the opportunity to travel and work throughout the United States of America alongside many Great Music Producers who had produced for huge names such as - Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Mary J Bligh, Back Street Boys, Britteney Spears, Bett Midler, R. Kelly and many, many more famous international Artists. 

 

After the completion of her recording contract with her record Label "Sony Australia" back in 2006, Ms. Stacey has since gone back to her roots and has done alot of soul searching to re-define herself and has been constantly writing and recording new sounds  as a Solo Artist. Ms Stacey's new sounds consists of a more mature and sophisticatedly smooth combination of Soul, Jazz, Reggae , Gospel influence and a mixture of 90's to Modern style R&B combined together which has led Ms. Stacey to develop a sound that is now marketable and ready to share with the rest of the nation and hopefully "The World". Since it has been since 2006 since Ms. Stacey had performed with her previous Duo band - Shakaya, Ms. Stacey felt it was necessary to step out and promote her newly developed voice and artistry as a solo performer on the very popular show "The Voice", getting herself through to the blind auditions by singing an old classic Jazz song- "Sentimental Reasons" an old 40's number  by the king of Jazz himself - "Nat King Cole". Ms. Stacey managed to wow!  3 brilliant coaches who all turned there chairs in amazement with Ms. Stacey's rendition of the song- Seal, Delta Goodrem and also Joel Madden all had great respect for the style that Ms. Stacey brought to the stage and all wanted to assist with coaching Ms. Stacey, however Ms. Stacey chose to go with team Seal where she had recieved some great training, skills , nurchering and advice from the great man of soul and R&B himself!!.. This was an amazing journey for Ms. Stacey who went as far as the Battle Rounds, which has given Ms. Stacey great exposure and an opportunity  to now promote her original material that she has been working on over the last few years.

 

Ms. Stacey has now currently released a Single called "My Pledge" which can be purchased and heard on Itunes . Ms. Stacey also displays a promotional campaign clip on Youtube featuring a young Rap Artist by the name of Mosh Gebadi (AKA "Mercy") .

The Beats and the promotional clip are cleverly Composed , Edited, and Produced by Lester Vaele of Malosi Entertainment . The song was also written and story Directed by Ms. Simone Stacey . 

 

So, In conclusion, Finally its here, A tribute to Simone Stacey's comeback to the music Industry with the release of her newest single release. MY PLEDGE. A dedication to the people of the South Sea Islands ( KANAKAN'S). A song inspired from the struggles in the days of the Blackbirding Era
